Saint Mary Magdalene Parish Cemetery
900 High Street, Waupaca WI
St. Mary Magdalene's Parish Cemetery is located just one mile from our church, at the northern end of Lakeside Cemetery.
Burial in a Catholic Cemetery is a long-standing sign of the church's reverence for the human body. Appropriately, the ground in Catholic Cemeteries is consecrated to receive sacred remains. Our Cemetery is maintained by staff and volunteers and our Perpetual Care funds ensure cemetery maintenance in perpetuity. Burial in a Catholic Cemetery recognizes baptismal commitment and gives witness, even in death, to our belief in the resurrection.
Pre-Need Arrangements
Today over half the purchases of burial space made in a Catholic Cemtery are made in advance of death (pre-need). This shows a sense of thoughtful planning. The decisions made now will be your own. This gives you peace of mind now, and your loved one's peace of mind later.
Burial Information
Final disposition is the act of placing the body or the cremated remains in the cemetery. In addition to the Traditional Burial of the body (interment) into the grave site, there are choices for Cremation Burial.
Catholics can choose to be cremated. The cremated remains of a body should be treated with the same respect given to the human body from which they come. This include the use of a worthy vessel to contain the cremated remains, the care and attention to appropriate placement and transport, and the final disposition.
St. Mary Magdalene was created as a final resting place for the faithful departed of our parish and all those affiliated with past and present members. It is our sacred duty to preserve this resting place in perpetuity. Our Catholic Cemetery supports our Catholic Christian faith and the belief that we will also participate in the fullness of the Resurrection.
